アマゾンが昨日から始めたこのサービス。黒船の到来だかなんだか知らないけれど、わたしは利用者なので万々歳。無料で観られるものなんて、大したものないんだろうなと思っていたけどラインアップもなかなかよかった。

家の近くにツタヤがあった頃は、観たことないものから何度もみたことがあるものまで適当に何枚か借りてきて、テレビを眺めなくっても映画を流してそこから聴こえてくる音楽や台詞を頭の中で撫でたり転がしたりして楽しんだものだった。そういえば最近はそんなこともめっきり減ったなあと寂しく思う。

タイトルは、昨日みた映画「American beauty」で最初に耳に残ったフレーズ。be going straight to〜って簡単そうだけど使ったこともなければ知りもしなかったから、じぶんの英語不勉強さが悲しい。

素敵な台詞がたくさんあったよ。

 Sometimes, there's so much beauty in the world - I feel like I can't take it, like my heart is just going to cave in.
I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me, but it's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain, and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry. You will someday.
